The Birthing of Victory Tabernacle:

In 1996 Pastor Michael Hopper and his wife Linda received a definite and direct call of God to begin what is now Victory Tabernacle.  The reason for starting this church was twofold.  One was to provide a place where people could come and worship God unreservedly, where they could lift their hands and voices unashamedly.  The other was to provide a teaching ministry that would lead people to a victorious, overcoming, abundant life of "more than enough" in every way--spiritually, physically, and financially.
Michael and Linda started having meetings in their living room with only two couples.  It has been a work of faith that has progressed to a growing, thriving congregation of  faithful people.

The way we worship:

-  We pray together out loud because...Acts 4:24 says, "...they raised their voices together in prayer to God."

-  We lift our hands in praise because...Psalms 134:2 says, "Lift up you hands in the sanctuary and praise the Lord."

-  We sing with all our hearts because...Psalms 98:4 says, "...burst into jubilant song with music."

-  We play musical instruments because...2 Samuel 6:5 says, "...and all the house of Israel played before the Lord on all manner of instruments..."

-  We clap and shout unto God because...Psalms 47:1 says, "Clap your hands all you nations; shout to God with cries of joy."

-  We praise the Lord publicly because...Psalms 22:22 says, "I will declare your name to my brothers; in the congregation I will praise you."

-  We anoint with oil for divine healing because...James 5:14 says, "Is any one of you sick?  He should call the elders of the church to pray for him and anoint him with oil in the name of the Lord."

-  We allow the operation of spiritual gifts because...1 Corinthians 14:26 says, "When you come together, everyone has a hymn, or a word of instruction, a revelation, a tongue or an interpretation.  All of these must be done for the strengthening of the church."
